March 2008. I was in my 9th standard. Being from a Middle-class family, I was put into a well renowned Matriculation School. I had very few friends those days with whom I go to School in my Bicycle – Razorback(Blue colour). Once back from the school, we used to gather at my home to watch the DragonBallz episodes at 5.30PM. Those were the days. When it comes to academics I was always a below average student, so my parents are very much familiar with the school Principal. The trend on those days was, if you could not prove your mettle in the 9th standard you would rather end-up discontinued from that School additionally getting direct admissions for 10th in another school is a difficult task.

We Wrote the 9th Annual exams and Summer coaching classes for 10th started. I had no idea about whats happening with my life (bitter memories). After a Month or two, the 9th Annual Results came and I was promoted to 10th with a Warning. i.e., If I could not cope up to study well, I will be dismissed from the academics at any time before the commencement of Board Exams. The Reason is, the School management does not want to lose their 100% result because of students like me.  These details were sent to my parents via post 😦

After reading this, my mom directly took me the School Principal. I can still remember that Day! I had no idea what she gonna talk. We were waiting outside the Meeting Room and  She looked very calm and composed. And our turn came to meet the Principal, That white Fat Lady(i always hated her). My mom started with the question, why my son was given a Warning Promotion? He was studying in this school for the past 3 years and if he was considered not good enough, the credits go to the school. I was spellbound by the way she spoke and it does make sense. As a counter “Fat Lady” replied with those Final sentence, “We are relieving your Son and you can collect the Transfer Certificate”. At that moment, I was expecting my mom to deny that. But, to my surprise she turned towards me and asked “Do you really want to study in this School?” and I happily said “NO” and the rest is history! Felt a great sign of relief to move out of that school. not knowing what’s gonna happen next. Will be continued
